We’re so glad you found us—and we’re even more excited to finally have a place to share our story, our farm, and our pasture-raised products with you online at PleasantShadeFarm.com. Our website was built by HomegrownHosting.com, a fellow farmer-owned business that helps small farms like ours grow and thrive online.
If you’re new here, let us introduce ourselves.
We’re Matt and Kate, a husband-and-wife team raising our family and working the land in Pleasant Shade, Tennessee—a farm Matt has cared for since he was just 12 years old.
He officially took over the farm from his grandparents in 2014. Since then, the farm has grown into a place not only for our own family to eat well, but for our community to access high-quality, ethically raised food.
Today, Pleasant Shade Farm is home to chickens, cows, and plenty of pasture. We specialize in pasture-raised poultry and eggs, and we’re thrilled to now offer these products for sale in our online Farm Store. Even better—grass-fed, grain-finished beef is coming soon!
We currently serve customers in Lebanon, Pleasant Shade, Hartsville, Carthage, Nashville and the surrounding areas. Local pickup is available in Lebanon, making it easy for you to get fresh, nutrient-dense food straight from our pastures to your plate.
We raise our animals using rotational grazing, a method that benefits both livestock and the land. Our cows graze fresh pasture regularly, followed by our chickens, who help fertilize and regenerate the soil naturally.
We also source fresh feed from a local mill that’s been operating since the 1930s and provide our animals with clean, spring-fed water year-round.
We’re proud members of the American Pastured Poultry Producers Association, and we’re committed to providing meat and eggs that are better for you, the animals, and the environment.
